Top Ten Tuesday: Authors I Have Read the Most Books From

August 11, 2015 Top Ten Tuesday 20

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke & The Bookish. Each week they release a Top Ten Theme and invite everyone to join in and make their own Top Ten List.

Like everyone I have my go-to authors who I absolutely love, but I have also been finding a lot recently that my reading has been spreading out a lot more and I’m reading more from lots of different authors, which although doesn’t help much with this list makes me happy because it means I’m getting to read loads of different and new stuff.

Tillie Cole (8)

I adore Tillie Cole, and don’t even need to read the blurb to know that I am going to read her next book. She gives me such feels with her beautiful yet heart breaking stories. And that is what I love about her writing and why I keep going back to it. She isn’t afraid of the tough topics and she handles them beautifully.

Sweet Home . Sweet Rome . Sweet Fall . Sweet Hope . Raze
It Ain’t Me Babe . Heart Recaptured . Souls Unfractured

J.K.Rowling (7)

The Harry Potter books will always hold a very special place in my heart, as will J.K.Rowling for creating the incredible world that I have fallen in love with. Pure Magic!

Harry Potter & the Philosophers StoneHarry Potter & the Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire . Harry Potter & Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter & the Half Blood PrinceHarry Potter & the Deathly Hallows

Malorie Blackman (6)

Malorie Blackman’s ‘Noughts and Crosses’ was the first ever YA book I ever read, and also the first book that ever made me cry. And I loved it so much that I demolished the rest of her books that I have been able to get my hands on.

Noughts and Crosses
Knife Edge . Checkmate . Double Cross . Callum . Boys Don’t Cry

Cassandra Clare (6)

I am obsessed with Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunter world, and I see myself reading a hell of a lot more of it in the upcoming months/years. So far I’ve only managed The Mortal Instruments and they were so incredible that now I’m dying to get my hands on the rest.

City of Bones . City of Ashes . City of Glass
City of Fallen Angels . City of Lost Souls . City of Heavenly Fire

Colleen Hoover (9)

Every single Colleen Hoover book I have read has been absolute perfection. I laugh with them, I cry with them, I FEEL with them. And I do love books that make me feel. I am so excited for her newest release in November, and that my amount of books by her that I have read will be up in double figures!

Never Never Part 1 . Never Never Part 2
Ugly Love
Hopeless . Loosing Hope . Finding Cinderella
Slammed . Point of Retreat . This Girl

Katie McGarry (5)

Like with a lot of authors on this list, I don’t even need to know the title of one of her new books to know that I want to read it. Every single one of her books is flawless and I will be reading her books for as long as she is writing them!

Pushing the Limits . Dare You To . Crash Into You . Take Me On
Nowhere But Here

Krista & Becca Ritchie (8)

These girls have to be my favourite twins (and that’s not just because they are the only twins I know!). Their writing is totally addictive and I can never get enough of their characters and stories. I don’t know how I am going to cope once the Addicted series has finished.

Addicted To You . Ricochet . Addicted For Now . Kiss the Sky . Hothouse Flower
Thrive . Addicted After All . Fuel the Fire

Anthony Horowitz (14)

He was my go-to guy when I was a teenager, and even now I still love reading his books. I am a teenage boy at heart, that loves reading about young spies and teenagers with special powers.

Stormbreaker . Point Blank . Skeleton Key . Eagle Strike . Scorpia . Ark Angel
Snakehead . Crocodile Tears . Scorpia Rising
Ravens Gate . Evil Star . Nightrise . Necropolis . Oblivion

Meg Cabot (16)

Another go-to author from my younger years, Meg Cabot really got me through those awkward teenage years with some absolutely amazing books, that I have read again and again and again.

Size 12 Is Not Fat . Size 14 Is Not Fat Either
Queen of Babble . Queen of Babble in the Big City . Queen of Babble Gets Hitched
Every Boy’s Got One
Avalon High . The Merlin Prophecy . Homecoming
All American Girl . Ready of Not
When Lightening Strikes . Code Name Cassandra . Safe House . Sanctuary . Missing You

Jamie McGuire (5)

LOVE LOVE LOVE Jamie McGuire. I find myself picking up her books whatever mood am I in, and I am always excitedly waiting on her next release!

Beautiful Disaster . Walking Disaster
Beautiful Oblivion . Beautiful Redemption . Beautiful Sacrifice

Have you read any of these books?

What is on your list this week?

Meg Cabot tops my list, because I love her so much! For some reason I just left J.K. Rowling off, but I have read all of the Harry Potter series.

I think J.K.Rowling is a bit of an obvious one for everyone, so even if she didn’t make your list everyone knows that you have probably read her! Yeay for another Meg Cabot lover 🙂 Thanks for stopping by!

You are most welcome, I am extremely happy to recommend Tillie Cole to as many people as possible! Thanks for stopping by 🙂

I have had Colleen Hoover on my to-read list for a while now, and I can’t wait to get round to reading one at some point – do you have a suggestion with the best one to start with? 🙂

    • Brocs Bookcase

Ooooo yes! Read her! I would recommend you start with either Hopeless (book 1 of Hopeless series) or Slammed (book 1 of Slammed series). Definitely read one of these series first. Both are amazing in their own way and I can’t pick my favourite out of the two! I really hope you like them, let me know what you think! 🙂

It would appear J.K. Rowling is making most of people’s TTT lists this week–including mine! 😉 Growing up I had been meaning to read Meg Cabot’s books but never got around to them…alas xD Great list!

I grew up with a mix of Meg Cabot and Anthony Horowitz, which is quite a weird combination really, but worked fine for me! Thanks for stopping by 🙂

The bad reviews probably came from people who weren’t a fan of the ending and so decided that they hated the whole book. I hate it when that happens! Meg Cabot really is awesome, I love that no matter your age, there is something for you from Meg Cabot!

    • Brocs Bookcase

Excellent choices! Which is your favourite Maddox brother?

  4. Becky @ A Fool's Ingenuity

Colleen Hoover was so close to making my list, but I’ve just not managed to get through all her books yet. I do adore her, though, so get why she made it. I’ve seen Meg Cabot a couple of times, I think we all read her religiously when we were younger and so just cannot leave her books well enough alone. And I cannot believe I forgot about Anthony Horowitz, I never made it too far in the Alex Rider series, a few books in and then I stopped being able to get them at the library as the reserve queue was too long! I am a total teenage boy at heart too. I want to read that series now.

    • Brocs Bookcase

Haha, glad I could remind you about the awesomeness that is Anthony Horowitz. My teenage years where a mix of him and Meg Cabot, think I was unsure if I wanted to be a girly girl or a tom boy so went with both! I hope you get the chance to read some more Colleen Hoover soon, love her books! 🙂

  5. Tanya

Love coming across someone else who love the Addicted series! Those Ritchie girls are the best. 🙂 And Colleen Hoover… le sigh. She can do no wrong. Oh, and Katie McGarry… Were we separated at birth or something? LOL We seem to have awfully similar taste in our books. 🙂

You are the first person who has even acknowledged the Ritchie Sisters on my list this week. Thank god I’m not the only one out there who loves them! Haha, we do! This is a good thing because now I can steal recommendations from your blog and I’m sure to like them! Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

      • Tanya

Forgot to mention in my comment yesterday that when I saw your list I immediately subscribed to your blog posts! 🙂 It’s always so exciting to find someone with similar tastes. Oh, and Becca and Krista Ritchie are doing a signing this October that I’m super excited about! It’s not *too far* away and I’m going to turn it into a little overnight getaway with my husband. 🙂

        • Brocs Bookcase

Wow, thanks. That’s such a nice thing to hear, you have brightened a very rainy day for me. I hope you enjoy some of my future posts!
I am super jealous about you getting to go to a Ritchie sister signing! I’m in the UK so don’t see anything happening over this part of the world for a while, but I hope you have a great time, both at the signing and with your husband 🙂

  6. Veronika

I completely forgot to add Cassandra Claire to my list! I’ve read TMI, TID and The Bane Chronicles so she definitely would have made it. 🙁 I’m kind of ashamed to say this but I’ve yet to read a Colleen Hoover book, even though I’d love to read some of her works, like Never Never and Ugly love. Anyways, great list! 🙂

    • Brocs Bookcase

I forgot loads too, I kept remembering as I snooped at everyone else’s lists! I’ve only read TMI, I really need to start on the rest of her Shadowhunter books!
You REALLY do need to read some CoHo! Both Never Never books are incredible, and of course you will need to read Ugly Love before the movie comes out! Thanks for stopping by to check out my list 🙂 Happy reading!
