Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke & The Bookish.
Each week they release a Top Ten Theme and invite everyone to join in and make their own Top Ten List.
I LOVED this weeks theme, I didn’t actually realise how many places books made me want to visit, especially the places that don’t actually exist!
The Fictional Places
Books that made me want to visit: Harry Potter Series
I’m thinking that this one is going to make it on most peoples lists this week! And why not?! Who wouldn’t want to get on a train and travel to a totally awesome school to learn magic and fly around on broomsticks!!!
Books that made me want to visit: Chronicles of Narnia
If I haven’t made it obvious enough already, I’m a bit of a fantasy nut. Escaping to another world through a wardrobe and discovering all the magic that Narnia has to offer would be AWESOME!
Book that made me want to visit: Peter Pan
“Second star to the right, and straight on till morning” Peter Pan has been my favourite fairy tale story since I was a kid and even now as a twenty two year old I wish I lived in a land where I never had to grow up!
Book that made me want to visit: Alice in Wonderland
“We’re all mad here” Wonderland seems like the perfect place to go and let off some steam and just go crazy. Plus I would LOVE to go to one of the mad hatters tea parties, they look like so much fun!
This one probably seems a bit confusing. Let me explain: I really like the world in the ‘His Dark Materials’ trilogy, however as far as I know it doesn’t actually have a name, it is just a world parallel to the one you and I are in. In this world in people have “dæmons” which are basically like a physical version of their soul outside of their body. I found it totally fascinating and would love my own dæmon!
The Real Places
I have been to Paris once before, but I was about 5 and was fast asleep in the car as we drove through on our way to somewhere else in France, so I don’t count it! I would love to do all the touristy things and discover all those unique little places in this amazing city!
Book that made me want to visit: Seeking Crystal
Italy has been on my list FOREVER, but this book really really made me want to visit it SOOOOO MUCH! It’s such a beautiful city with a lot of colour and culture that I would love to immerse myself in!
Book that made me want to visit: Lola and the Boy Next Door
It wasn’t so much that this book made me want to visit San Fran, but more that it reminded me how much I wanted to visit it. I keep seeing pictures of it and it just looks incredible!
Do you want to visit any of these places?
