Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke & The Bookish.
Each week they release a Top Ten List and invite everyone to join in and make their own Top Ten List.
Never Let Me Go – I don’t know, I just don’t feel like this really fits with the story. Not a fan of the face on the cover.
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo – Not a fan of this one. I don’t like the colours and the figure of the dragon is just kind of lost in the cover. I would have preferred a darker cover with a more striking dragon image.
The Fallen Star – Now normally I am a fan of covers with eyes on them, but this one isn’t as striking as some of my favorites.
Afterlife – This one just seems a bit bland. Like with the previous one, the eye just isn’t as striking as I like them. Nothing really stands out about it to me.
Breaking Dawn – All of the Twilight covers are slightly odd, but this one I think is the weirdest. It doesn’t fit with the story at all?!
And, because I ran out of covers I’m filling the rest of my top ten with…
COVERS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN REDESIGNED/HAVE DIFFERENT EDITIONS
Across the Universe – This book should have NOT been redesigned. It’s not that the redesign (on the right) is bad, I actually kind of like it. But I just LOVE the original and think it links with the story so well.
Gone – This book has an English edition and an American edition and I much prefer the English cover (on the left). I think I’m one of those people who think that simple is better. I have the set of books and I really love the way they look on my bookcase with their different coloured titles that stand out against the simple black cover.
. Under the Never Sky – Another book with both English (left) and American (right) editions. However this time I would definitely pick the American over the English. I don’t know, the English just seems a bit childish. Plus I much prefer the colours on the American cover.
Divergent – I was gutted when I bought this book on my Kindle and got the cover on the right. I really really really like the American cover (on the left). I just think it fits in so much better with the story. I really wish I had gotten to pick my cover!
