Sadly there won’t be any books in my beach bag this summer, because I’m not going anywhere beach bag worthy! But I’m keeping my fingers crossed for at least a few sunny days here in the UK in which I can sit outside in my garden, with some kind of iced alcoholic beverage and a good book.
Last year when we did this topic I chose books that have been on my bookshelves for quite a while that I felt like I needed to read, but this year I decided to go for new releases because there are just so many amazing books for us to get our hands on this summer!
Hello I Love You – Korean Pop Star romance? Hell YES! I love how unique this story line is, set in Korea This is one of my most anticipated reads for this summer.
Never Always Sometimes – This one looks like such a cute romance romance which will be a PERFECT summer read. We all hate cliche’s, but in this case that’s what this book is all about!
Joyride – I love the unexpected romances (well, unexpected for the characters!). This one looks like a good mix of romance with some light/funny and more serious/emotional moments. Exactly my kind of book!
Because You’ll Never Meet Me – I am SO excited for this one. Two friends: one allergic to electricity, the other kept alive by a electronic pacemaker. So how does that friendship work, well that is what this book is all about. Another of my most anticipated reads this summer!
The Revenge Playbook – I saw an early review for this one the other day and it reminded me just how excited I am for this book. It reminded me a little bit of the film “John Tucker Must Die” but according to the review I read it’s not all fun and games, there are also some pretty serious themes included in this one which should make it the perfect summer read.
The Night We Said Yes – I love Second Chance Romances, and this one just looks too fun to miss. I’ve always wanted to spend a day just saying YES to everything, but slightly scared at what I will end up doing!
What You Left Behind – I really like the idea for this one. Senior in high school with a new baby and a deceased girlfriend to mourn over whilst trying to earn his scholarship for college. This one is going to have TONS of feels!
Don’t Ever Change – I only found this one recently but I was immediately interested. I haven’t ever read anything about a writer, so that will make a nice change, but the whole ‘you have to live a life to be able to have something to write about’ really strikes truth for me as I too am currently doing some writing.
Scorched – This one looks HOT but also kind of emotional. I’m thinking sunglasses will be a must when reading this one in public in order to hide some tears I get the feeling will be running down my face. Also, how gorgeous is the cover?!
Proof of Forever – Have you ever watched 13 going on 30? I loved it and have always wanted to go back and re-experience some of my teenage years, I really didn’t appreciate them. Well that’s the concept for this one…four friends who fell apart from each other, but a trip back in time may change all of that. Looks way too much fun to miss!
