Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Bookish Friendships

Top Ten Tuesday2

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke & The Bookish. Each week they release a Top Ten List and invite everyone to join in and make their own Top Ten List.

This weeks theme was ‘books based on friendship’ but I decided to change it up slightly and chose my top ten bookish friendships instead.

TTT 5-8

TTT 9-10

Aria & Roar (Under the Never Sky Trilogy – Veronica Rossi)Β There were a lot of people hoping for a romance between these two, but I was glad that Veronica Rossi didn’t go down the whole ‘love triangle’ route. Aria & Roar were made to be friends and they really are great together, through the funny times with their singing and the really emotional times when they are just their for each other.

Emma & Dexter (One Day – David Nicholls)Β This is one of those books that shows you just how strong a friendship can be that it can last through the years, through the times when you don’t really talk, the times when you don’t partially like the other person, the times when you are living in different countries and can become such a beautiful friendship that can define your life.

Beth & Molly (Halo Series – Alexandra Adornetto) – A totally innocent and naive angel and a loud, fun loving party girl = such a fun & caring friendship. They really balance each other out well and help each other to grow more as a person as well as a friend. I loved these two through the entire series.

Lexi & Kaylee (Beach Side Beds, Beds Series – Cassie Mae)Β I love these guys’ friendship! Kaylee is the type of friend who will kick her boyfriend out of her bed all night so she can comfort her upset friend. They remind me so much of me and my best friend who has spent many a night sat up with me.

Percy, Annabeth & Grover (Percy Jackson Series – Rick Riordan) I haven’t made it through this series yet, but from where I am at so far I love this trio. They are exactly the people I would want with me when fighting monsters. I can’t wait to see how much more their friendships develop.

Noah, Isaiah & Beth (Crash Into You, Pushing the Limits Series – Katie McGarry) I love these three through the entire series, but my favourite book for them has got to be Crash Into You. They have stuck together since the start of the series and in this book they really come together as a group to help each other out through some pretty hard times.

Harry, Ron & Hermione (Harry Potter Series – J.K.Rowling) They are like the ultimate trio and are definitely top of my bookish friendships list. They each bring something to their friendship: loyalty, humour, intelligence as well as the kind of love you only find with friends who stick together right until the end and would risk their lives for each other.

Isaac, Gus & Hazel (The Fault in Our Stars – John Green) I was initially just going to put Gus & Isaac as they have the most beautiful friendship, a full on bromance. I love the two of them together and the way they support each other through the really difficult times. But then as I re-read TFIOS for like the millionth time I realised how important Issac and Hazel become to one another and they again are really there for each other through everything. I also love that they all share the same humour and even through the emotional times they manage to make me smile.

The Victors (Catching Fire, The Hunger Games Trilogy – Suzanne Collins) This one probably seems a bit strange, but I really love the way that the victors come together in Catching Fire. First during the interviews before the games. I know this isn’t friendship, but its more of an understanding between them, and their unity really stands out as something special. But mostly I like the way they all come together in the games and really help and protect each other even though they are going to have to kill each other in the end.

The Fellowship (The Lord of the Rings Trilogy – J.R.R.Tolkien) This is like the ultimate friendship. These guys literally put their lives on the line for each other every single day and stick together through everything. I haven’t yet made it to the end of this trilogy, but from what I have read so far they are an amazing group of friends.

Who are your favourite book friends? Any favourite friendship books?

They literally have the best friendship in the world. There’s nothing like near death experiences or the threat of the end of the world to bring people together! πŸ™‚

Isaac, Gus and Hazel <3 I love The Fellowship too – Haven't read the books yet but seen all the films and loved them. Will get around to reading them one day!

I loved the films too. It makes me really sad at the end though when they all go their separate ways, I hate goodbyes! I’m the person sat sobbing at the TV like ‘but you are meant to be together FOREVER!’ and somewhere in there I start singing the ‘best friends’ song from the Hangover. “because they’re the nine best friends that anyone could have…” oh dear

Percy Jackson is a popular one this week and I’ve heard so many raving compliments about it so I know I need to catch up. I absolutely agree on so many of your choices, I love your list!

Thanks so much πŸ™‚ Yeah I’ve seen PJ on a ton of lists this week. They are an awesome trio though, what other bookish friendship includes someone with hooves?! I too need to catch up. I bought the entire series, just haven’t read it yet! Thanks for stopping by!

I’m excited for you to read it too. I love Arya and Roar so much, hope you do too! Of course not, really wish I was a part of that gang though πŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by!

So many that I haven’t read yet! But Harry-Ron-Hermione, Percy-Annabeth-Gus, and The Fellowship all get a big thumbs up from me. (Two of those series made it into my list, too.)

Get on it! πŸ˜› I love my list this week, so many of my favourite books on it. Glad you agree on my choices, great minds think alike! πŸ™‚ Thanks for stopping by!

I would definitely have to agree with this. I’m such a massive fan of the group friendships, they are always the most fun. There are so many more I love that could have gone on this list. Even whilst writing this another one has popped into my head and I’m gutted I only just thought of them! Oh well πŸ™
