Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Resolutions of 2015

December 30, 2014 Top Ten Tuesday 14

Top Ten Tuesday2

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke & The Bookish.
Each week they release a Top Ten Theme and invite everyone to join in and make their own Top Ten List.

This week is all about our resolutions for 2015. I was looking back over my 2014 Resolutions and was kinda disappointed that I only managed to complete 3 of them. However I was very proud that I FINALLY got myself a book shelf! This year I’m going to try very hard to complete at least half of them!

I took part in the Goodreads challenge this year and promised to read 100 books. Sadly, because of a major book slump I only got to 84 and so I failed! This year I am back on it and I WILL read 100!!!

This year I ran a 5k with my mum and sister and it reminded me that I actually do enjoy running. This year I am going up a level and I plan to do 10k!

This is both my virtual TBR shelf and my literal TBR shelf which together feature about 1000 books! My Goodreads TBR is so full there are definitely some books that I need to cull from it. But even after I still imagine it is going to be a VERY long list!

I had to put job hunting on hold this year after my dad got injured training for his Everest trek, and so I spent 6 months at home helping him run his business. Since he got better I have been trying to get myself a full time job, but so far no luck. Fingers crossed for next year!

This year I went to YALC which was my first ever bookish event, and I absolutely LOVED it! I got to meet some of my favourite authors as well as other bloggers who I had been chatting to for AGES but never met. I really want to go back again next year and experience it all over again!

I’m one of those very annoying people who starts reading a series and then in waiting for the next book I completely forget about the series and never end up finishing it! There are so many series that I need and want to finish and so hopefully I will get round to them this year.

A repeat from last year which sadly I did not accomplish. My blog is so unorganised! I have a massive list of things that I want to do but never get round to, and I always forget to write my posts in advance. One example of this is that I am currently writing this post at 3pm on Tuesday, the day of. I really need to get on top of this!!!

Another from last year that I never got round to. People keep telling me to read the classics but I still haven’t! There is always some other book which I always put in front of them. But this year I will read at least 3, pinky promise!

I have been a diabetic for over 2 years now, and although I try very hard to be good there are always those times when things kind of fall apart and I end up being a bit naughty. This year I am trying for less of those naughty times, and less of the lectures from my diabetic nurse! It would be nice to go an see her and to get a Well Done!

Last year I aimed for more good deeds, this year I am all about the volunteer work. I have worked with some amazing charities in the past and would love to get back to that. This year is my chance to do some good!

What are your aims for next year?

Do you accomplish last years?

Ah, it’s finally letting me comment now! Ha. I’ve had problems all day. I think you’ve got some great resolutions here. Very achievable! I definitely want to concentrate on finishing more series.

Yeay! For some reason WP closed comments on my original post so I had to copy and paste it all into a new post and the comments worked fine. Don’t know how that happened, but oh well. I think my resolutions last year who a bit unachievable which is why i tried to be a bit more sensible with them this year! Finishing series is a must!

Ah I also just got a bookshelf recently. I was using shelves in my wardrobe in my old room and my new room…not ideal! I also didn’t complete very many goals from last years list so I made my resolutions a lot more achievable, especially with a busy year of Uni ahead.

Best of luck with the goals 🙂

Yeay for bookshelves! Although I hardly think mine counts, it only fits like 10 books on it! Haha! I’m totally with you with the more achievable ones this year, think I got a bit over excited last year! Good luck with your goals and happy new year!

You have some great resolutions here!
Hannah, I hope you don’t get naughty with the sweets. My mom’s a diabetic and it gets really rough the older you get. One tip I can give you, though, is take care of your feet and eyes. FOOTSPA! (Sorry, when I see something shiny, I go for it like a bloodhound). Back to the comment … Ah yes, the ‘Be More Organised’ goal didn’t even make it onto my list this year, but I hope you can reach it with ease!
Good luck with your resolutions and keep us updated!

It’s more the chocolate, but I’m going to be good this year! And yes, eyes and feet are a must! Thanks for the advice 🙂
Be more organised seems to be one of those things that makes my list every year! I live in hope that one day it will happen!
Good luck with your resolutions too, and happy new year!

Hi, Hannah! Great list – I love that you’ve made health goals and have thought about volunteering. Definitely something to add to my list as well. I also ran a 5k in 2014 and really, really enjoyed it! Not sure if I’m ready for a 10k yet, but we shall see 🙂 Good luck!!

    • Brocs Bookcase

Thanks, I wanted something healthy but not just ‘get healthy’, I wanted something I could actually work towards. Oh, there will be a lot more 5k’s for training before I do my 10k, and maybe I might change it to just ‘do a 10k’ so it leaves a little bit of space for some power walking instead! Hehe.
Good luck with your resolutions too, and happy new year!

I’m also aiming for 100 books this year C: At first I thought that I’m being too ambitious but I’m glad to see someone doesn’t think it’s too high of a number. I’d really like to attend some bookish events too! There’s hardly any in the UK though so I’ll be watching out for all the book signings next year :3 Good luck with your goals and the New Year in general!

    Here’s my Top Ten:

When you think about it, it’s really only 2 a week. And if you are anything like me then on a week long sunbed holiday then you can get through tons! So it isn’t too hard to do. The only reason I missed out on it in 2014 was because I had a massive reading slump with ruined everything! Check out YALC (Young Adult Literature Convention), it was on in July in 2014 at Comic Con in London. Was a really good weekend. I really want to get to some book signings too this year! Good luck with your resolutions too, and happy new year!

    • Brocs Bookcase

I definitely need to take part in some more, but not too many! I’m having a look at all of the different ones at the moment and will chose a couple 🙂 Thanks for your visit! And again good luck with yours too! 🙂

    • Brocs Bookcase

Thanks! I feel like I have my own personal cheerleader! Haha 🙂
