The Story(summary from Goodreads)

Two years will change them forever.

When rumors spread like wildfire—like having three-ways with her boyfriend’s rock climbing brother—Lily Calloway spirals into a dark place. Her bedroom. Loren Hale is more confident and determined to keep their sex life private, even from their friends, and he helps Lily in the only way he knows how. But how much love is too much?

Their lives are filmed, watched, and criticized. And through it all, Lily and Loren have to face enemies they never thought they’d see, demons they don’t know if they should bury, and setbacks they didn’t think they’d meet. Not this soon.

And one rumor could be too much for them to handle. It will test their greatest limitations, and if they don’t hold onto each other, someone is going to drown.

** Author Note **
A full-length New Adult Romance that bridges the gap between the second and third books. Thrive must be read before Addicted After All if you have not read the Calloway Sisters spin-off series.

My Thoughts

I lost count of how many times I have said this, but this series is incredible. The Ritchie sisters have given us these flawed but lovable characters whose lives and stories we can’t help but be completely addicted to. Thrive is no different and gives us a little insight into what was going on with Lily & Lo over the course of the previous two books in the series Kiss the Sky and Hot House Flower.

First things first, this is NOT a retelling. Yes, it covers the exact same time period as the previous two books but it is far from the same thing all over again but from a different POV. There is a TON of new content that fills in the blanks and there will be a few moments when you read a scene from one of the previous books and go ‘ohhhhh, I was wondering what that was all about!’.

“Everyone is staring,” I whisper to Lo….
His gaze softens for me…  “You’re a sex addict and I’m an alcoholic,” he says, “and the whole fucking world knows it. We have to get used to people staring, love.”

Lily and Lo prove again just how unconditional and intense their love is. Each couple in this series gives us something different, and with Lily and Lo it is about the love. It’s the moments that make you go ‘awwww’, that make you swoon, that make people give you weird looks because you are cheesy smiling at a book! Lily & Lo are always each others priority and nothing comes before them, not even their addictions. They have hit rock bottom together and managed to bring each other out of it proving there is no Lily without Lo, and no Lo without Lily! Plus, I just love their geekiness over superheros and Harry Potter, it’s just so darn adorable!

“Will you let me know when you get your superpower?” He nods, and his fingers slide across the base to my neck. I love that he touches me so much more. “I have to warn you though, I may not have one.” “That’s okay,” I say. “Sometimes I like the idea of just being mortal with you.”

We get the entire gang and even though this one is from Lily & Lo’s POV I think I fell in love with Connor even more in this book. Don’t get me wrong, I love reading from his POV, but I also love seeing everyone else’s reactions to him and Lily & Lo’s are some of the best. I really really loved the group outing to the comic convention in this book, if there is one part of this book you HAVE to make sure you read, it is that bit!

“We’re no longer welcome at that particular hotel…for eternity. Those were the manager’s exact words.” Connor loosens his bowtie. “I don’t blame him for thinking we’re immortal. In some preclassic civilizations, I’d be considered a god.”

Something I love about this book, and the entire series is that there is no drama for drama’s sake. I mean, sure there is drama, but it makes sense. It’s not just thrown in there to make up the word count or to make it exciting to read. Each characters ‘drama’ fits perfectly with who they are and how their story is developing. Here’s to hoping that there will be a little less drama by the end of the series though, and everyone can just live happily ever after! (I say this, but knowing these characters I think we all know there is a whole lot more drama to come!)

“We’re going to have our happy ending. It just may take us awhile to get there.

Final Thoughts

This may be an ‘in-between’ book, but in no way is it an ‘in between’ book! This series does not have in-between/filler books. Every book stands up for itself and each deserves its place in the line up that makes the Addicted & Calloway Sisters series what it is.

Re-Readability: Over and over and over…

I would recommend this book to fans of: the Addicted Series, the Calloway Sisters series, New Adult Romances, friend to lover, bromances
