The Story(summary from Goodreads)

Drew Evans is a winner. Handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. He has loyal friends and an indulgent family. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed?

He’ll tell you he has the flu. But we all know that’s not really true.

Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. She refuses to let anything – or anyone – derail her path to success. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.

Then, just when Drew is on the cusp of having everything he wants, his overblown confidence threatens to ruin it all. Will he be able untangle his feelings of lust and tenderness, frustration and fulfillment? Will he rise to the most important challenge of his life?

Can Drew Evans win at love?

Tangled is not your mother’s romance novel. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks he knows. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

My Thoughts

Wow this book really was something else. At times I was full on laughing out loud, happy tears streaming down my face.

This book is told from Drew Evans POV. He is your typical arrogant, rich play boy. Working with his best friends at their parents business his life is perfect. He sounds kind of like a douche, yes? We shouldn’t like him, but his honesty throughout this entire book makes for a hysterical story, and you can’t help but love him!

“Although my mind recognizes that Kate Brooks is now my rival, apparently my cock hasn’t gotten the memo.”

Enter Kate Brooks. She’s smart , confident and determined to make a name for herself, even if it means taking on the company golden boy. She has no time Drew is immediately attracted to her, but his ‘no sleeping with co-workers’ rule combined with his annoyance at Kate making him look bad, holds him back from having his way with her!

“For those ladies out there who are listening, let me give you some free advice: If a guy who you just met at a club calls you baby, sweetheart, angel, or any other generic endearment? Don’t make the mistake of thinking he’s so into you, he’s already thinking up pet names. It’s because he can’t or doesn’t care to remember your actual name.”

My favourite thing about this book has to be that it is from Drew’s POV. I’ve never read a romance from the guys POV before and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but this was brilliant. I never read from such a cocky POV and I really loved all his inner thoughts.

The story was great, if not at times slightly cheesy, but not in an over baring way. Kate was Drew’s perfect partner and both their arguing and flirting were just as entertaining as each other. Kate really held her own against Drew and refused to put up with any of his bull****!

“I told you how I grew up. I never had to share my toys; I don’t plan on sharing my clients. Ask any four-year-old—sharing sucks.”

.

Final Thoughts

Hilarious, sexy and romantic (in a rich play boy kind of way) this book really is brilliant and will have you laughing until your sides ache and your face is soaked with tears! I would recommend this one to anyone who loves a good rom-com.

Re-Readability: Yes

I would recommend this book to fans of: NA romance, cocky rich boy characters, romances with tons of chemistry, romantic comedies
