Protect your family. At all costs.

It’d take the impossible to hurt Connor Cobalt, even for a moment.

Protect your family. At all costs.

At twenty-six, his narcissistic tendencies have made room for the people he loves.

Protect your family. At all costs.

And he loves Rose. But when his love is threatened, when his greatest dreams with her are compromised — what is the cost then?

Protect your family. At all costs.

Love will guide his choices.
For the first time in his life.

Thrive bridges the gap between Addicted for Now and Addicted After All. Thrive must be read befre reading Addicted After All if you have not read the Calloway Sisters spin off series.

My Thoughts

Finishing this book was one of those love and hate moments. Love because it was amazing, but hate because it is the last book we are going to get from Rose and Connor’s POV. The games, the french, the totally hot and sexy times…it’s all been brought to an end with their final book of the series. And wow was it a good one!

Rose and Connor are amazing, and I absolutely love reading from their POV. But this book was even better because we finally get their POV as parents. Rose getting frustrated over Jane picking ugly accessories for herself and Connor’s inability to listen to lamb noises from Jane’s children’s books are just some of the best scenes in this book. I expected Rose and Connor to be very much focussed on Jane’s development, especially compared to Moffy’s, but it is barely mentioned and both seem very happy to let her take life at her own pace.

“There are rare people who will fuel the fire inside of you, who will awaken a dormant passion, who will push you and better you. She alone is my rarity.

Connor has to be one of my favourite characters because of his pure confidence in himself and everything he does and I think I love reading about him from other characters POV just as much as I do from his own POV. It was heartbreaking in this book when things start to fall apart around him and he really started to doubt himself and how his actions may harm his family. His pain and disgust in himself and the things he had to resort to to protect those he loves showed just what a strong person he is, and if possible made me love him even more.

“Broken souls are mended every day by mended souls that were once broken.”

I don’t think I have ever fallen for a group of characters as much as I did in this book and I love looking back at the first book and seeing how much the group has grown. Rose and Lo working together, Connor and Ryke having heart to hearts, it seemed totally impossible at the beginning of this series. As we draw even closer to the end each couples stories start to be tied up, to give them each the ending that we all know that they deserve, and as heartbreaking as it is to know that we are soon going to have to say goodbye, I love that they are finally starting to get their happily ever afters.

“We’re all assholes,” Lo tells Garrison. “But one day, you’ll meet an asshole that pushes you to be a better person. Those are the ones that stick with you.”

I had to mention Jane and Moffy in this review, because they are totally adorable. In this book we get first steps, first words and the beginning of a beautiful friendship. The announcement of Damaged Like Us, the story of the addicted kids when they are grown up, has me so excited and I cannot wait to see what Jane and Moffy are going to be like.

“I’m attracted to people. To the words they speak, to the actions they take, to their full-bodied mannerisms and soulful gaits. I am attracted to people. To impassioned hearts that beat out of sync, the ones that skip a measure, heard in hushed places and violent spaces—I am attracted to people.”

Although this book was centred around Rose and Connor there was also quite a bit of focus on Daisy and Ryke (more so then Lily and Lo), because they still have a final part of their story to come. There were some things revealed in this one that have set up their book perfectly, and I can’t wait to see how their story develops further in Long Way Down.

“I’m tragically in love with you too.

Final Thoughts

Rose and Connor have been the backbone of the Addicted family and series since the very first book, and although we have one more book with them in to enjoy, our time in their head is over and I am totally heartbroken. You know that you have read a good book when you immediately feel yourself mourning it after finishing, and this is what Becca and Krista Ritchie have resorted me to!

Re-Readability: Over and over and over…

I would recommend this book to fans of: the Addicted Series, the Calloway Sisters series, New Adult Romances, friend to lover, bromances.
