My List of Shame (aka. the books I never got round to reading in 2017!)

January 9, 2018 Top Ten Tuesday 4

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke & The Bookish.
Each week they release a Top Ten Theme and invite everyone to join in and make their own Top Ten List.

Whilst you’re here make sure to check out my Bookopoly Reading Challenge which went live on 1st January and will be running through 2018.

Carve the Mark – Veronica Roth
I LOVED Divergent and should have definitely checked this one out.

Caraval – Stephanie Garber
There was a lot of hype surrounding this book this year and I don’t know if that’s what delayed my reading of it ( I usually avoid hype books, at least until they are a little less hypey), but all the reviews have always been amazing so I really should have checked it out.

The Edge of Everything – Jeff Giles
Such a strange concept, I really wanted to read this one this year. Bad Hannah!

Empress of a Thousand Skies – Rhoda Belleza
So the cover drew me to this one because, well, it’s gorgeous. And I’m so angry that I didn’t get round to reading it because I have heard so many great things.

Strange the Dreamer – Laini Taylor
So I bought this one, I went to the signing, I even met Laini(!!!) and I started reading it…but then life got a little busy and I put it down one day and forgot to pick it back up.

Cold Summer – Gwen Cole
I really angry with myself about this one. Apparently it’s amazing.

When Dimple Met Rishi – Sandhya Menon
I have no idea what happened with this one. I own the darn book!

Here We Are Now – Jasmine Warga
Another author whose previous book I loved and I bet I would love this one. I own this book but just never got round to reading it.

The Shades of Magic trilogy – V.E.Schwab
I got to meet Schwab at YALC this year and after speaking to her and listening to her talks on world-building etc I was determined to read this series. It never happened. Epic fail.

The Dark Artifices (books 1&2) – Cassandra Clare
Another series of which I own the books but have never read them. And I know that they are all going to be amazing because it’s Cassandra Clare who is so amazing that I would totally read her shopping list if she published it At this point I think I’m just going to wait until like a week before the third and final one is released and then just binge on them!

Have you read any of these books? Which should I read first?

What’s on your list this week?
