April 9, 2017 Sunday Funday 1

The weekend is almost over, which means back to work tomorrow for most of us. So to cheer you up (and myself) I am going to be giving you a little bit of bookish fun every Sunday, to make the end of the weekend that little bit easier!

Hello world! I’m back to Sunday Funday after my mini hiatus and feeling totally refreshed for it. I’m back with tons of new Sunday Funday ideas and can’t wait to share them with you all!

First on the list…bookish hip flasks! Now, I know what you’re thinking…aren’t hip flasks for old guys? Well, I went on a night out a few weeks ago and took my hip flask with me and was the coolest person there! Sadly, my hip flask is just a plain pink one, but I whilst doing some booknerd research I found some really cool bookish ones that you guys have to see!

Sunday Funday: Pottopoly

January 15, 2017 Sunday Funday 1

The weekend is almost over, which means back to work tomorrow for most of us. So to cheer you up (and myself) I am going to be giving you a little bit of bookish fun every Sunday, to make the end of the weekend that little bit easier!

My week has been a strange one. Me and my boyfriend broke up last weekend and I’ve been feeling pretty emotional since. This weekend I’ve had the house to myself and I was so worried that I was going to end up curled up in the corner of my bedroom crying all weekend but the time alone seems to have done me some good and although I’m still feel massively raw about the entire thing I’m definiltey feeling a bit more emotionally stable.

Part of this, I’d like to think, is because I’ve spent this weekend making my way through all the Harry Potter films in preparation for seeing the Cursed Child next week. Harry Potter always manages to cheer me up and has definitely been a good way to keep myself distracted!

So, onto this week’s Sunday Funday and I’m sticking with the Harry Potter theme. I don’t know about you but my facebook feed this week has been full of Pottopoly and I just had to share it!

The game has been created by Kristen Roedel and her attention to detail is mesmerising! It contains a bank of customized Galleons (in the denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 500) and Azkaban instead of Jail!

Forget the old shoe or boat that came with Monopoly, this version comes with 6 playing figurines: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Voldemort, Snape or Draco. You can also buy the additional characters of Dumbledore, Ginny and Luna.

There are 24 Charms cards (Chance) and 24 Potions (Community Chest) cards, and you can buy locations like Dumbledore’s office and the cupboard under the stairs!

The item is currently sold out, but Etsy seller Kristen Roedel will be opening up pre-orders again in March, which gives us just enough time to save up for this fabulous game!

In the meantime if you are looking for a bookish game to play you should check out my new challenge, Bookopoly!

What do you think of Pottopoly?

Enjoy your Sunday and have an excellent week!

January 8, 2017 Sunday Funday 2

The weekend is almost over, which means back to work tomorrow for most of us. So to cheer you up (and myself) I am going to be giving you a little bit of bookish fun every Sunday, to make the end of the weekend that little bit easier!

First Sunday Funday of the new year!

I’ve always loved doing this feature and was super sorry to have to take a break from it at the end of last year, but with every happening IRL I just didn;t have the time to dedicate to it. But now it’s back and I can’t wait to share some of the bookish stuff I’ve been saving up for these posts!

So, here’s the situation: It’s January, you’ve got no money to go out anywhere, it’s cold and you just want to snuggle up under your blanket and be bookish! I know exactly what you need…bookish colouring!

Love Between the Lines is an adult colouring book featuring pictures inspired by books. The full list of authors included are below but some of my favourite are Colleen Hoover, Claire Contreas and Abbi Glines.

The book is made up of 45 hand drawn illustrations that contain hidden images and book quotes perfect for whether you want to spend an entire day colouring or just a quick 5 minutes between books!

I have heard nothing but amazing things about this book since it’s release in November and know that TONS of people got it as Christmas presents and are loving it! I’ve even ordered myself one!

Buy Amazon US . Buy Amazon UK

The weekend is almost over, which means back to work tomorrow for most of us. So to cheer you up (and myself) I am going to be giving you a little bit of bookish fun every Sunday, to make the end of the weekend that little bit easier!

I’ve spent the past week fighting a cold, a stomach bug and tonsillitis and I can finally say that I am starting to feel a bit more normal! Hurray! I can’t remember the last time I picked up a book, which makes me super sad, but hopefully now I’m a bit more with it I’ll be back to reading soon!

I’m super excited about this weeks post because it’s Harry Potter themed! And you can’t have enough Harry Potter stuff in my opinion!

Sunday Funday: Recycled Bookmarks

The weekend is almost over, which means back to work tomorrow for most of us. So to cheer you up (and myself) I am going to be giving you a little bit of bookish fun every Sunday, to make the end of the weekend that little bit easier!

My week has been manic and it’s only 1 weeks off all the students starting back at the university I am working at. It’s a time at work that I don;t particularly like, not because I can’t cope with being busy but I feel like you really get to see the real side of the people that you work with, and sometimes it’s not a nice side. I’m really hoping that by this time next year I’ll be working somewhere else! *fingers crossed*

Also, just to let you know that my Birthday Giveaway is open until midnight tonight (GMT time) so make sure you check it out and enter for the chance to win some bookish goodies!

This weeks Sunday Funday is all about recycling old books into bookmarks, which sounds like it’s been done 1000 times before, but trust me… you’ve got to check these out!

Sunday Funday: Bookstagram Reviews

The weekend is almost over, which means back to work tomorrow for most of us. So to cheer you up (and myself) I am going to be giving you a little bit of bookish fun every Sunday, to make the end of the weekend that little bit easier!

I have had such a hectic week and I am so happy to be spending my Sunday reading. I literally just finished Asking For It by Louise O’Neill last night and I’m looking forward to starting on something different, maybe some fantasy?

Work is starting to get busy again as all the students will be starting back in just over a week for a whole new year. Plus I went shopping to find a dress for my cousins wedding this week (my original one ended up being ivory, which is the same colour as the wedding dress. Oops!) and had a lovely night out with the girls from work. And then yesterday I went to Haworth with my mum which, if you didn’t already know, is where the Bronte sisters lived and wrote. It was really fascinating to see it all and I learnt so much more about them.

Also, just to let you know that my Birthday Giveaway is still open so make sure you check it out and enter for the chance to win some bookish goodies!

Ok, so my Sunday Funday. This week I was looking at lots of bookstagram accounts as I try and actually improve upon my own instagram and I came across a really cool account that I just had to share with you all

Sunday Funday: Book Lamp

The weekend is almost over, which means back to work tomorrow for most of us. So to cheer you up (and myself) I am going to be giving you a little bit of bookish fun every Sunday, to make the end of the weekend that little bit easier!

I am a massive fan of bank holiday weekends. 3 days weekends that do not require you to take any of your leave days form work! Plus August bank holidays mean beer festivals! Which is how I am spending mine! As the daughter of a brewery owner my life has a whole lot of beer in it, but my favourite has to be spending warm summer days sat in a beer garden just chilling out whilst drinking something yummy!

Also I want to share this with you about a teacher in Belgium who has got their students hunting for books rather than Pokemon! Pretty cool.

In other news, J.K.Rowling revealed this week that Dean Thomas was originally called Gary!

Sunday Funday: Bookish Totes (because you can never have enough!)

August 14, 2016 Sunday Funday 2

Sunday Funday Logo

The weekend is almost over, which means back to work tomorrow for most of us. So to cheer you up (and myself) I am going to be giving you a little bit of bookish fun every Sunday, to make the end of the weekend that little bit easier!

Is everyone else totally loving the olympics right now? I can’t stop watching it! I’m rubbish at any physical activity which requires more energy than lifting a book, but I have loved watching (and judging!) all the athletes this past week. I never watch any kind of sports and so have no idea what is going on most of the time but a few days of watching the diving and I was all about the amount of splash and the over rotation, and after a few days of watching the gymnastics I found myself really concentrating on all the little things like how pointed their toes were! I don’t know what I’m going to do with all this new found knowledge for the next 4 years once the Rio olympics are over!

So, Sunday Funday! This week I wanted to show you some really cool bookish tote bags which I love (and will probably end up spending next months pay on!) that are made by a really great company called Out of Print. They make tons of bookish stuff, from t-shirts to coasters, and for every product sold, donate a book to Books For Africa, as well as supporting other bookish causes and authors around the world.
