JANUARY

Playlists for the Dead Cover

Release: January 27th 2015

I love books that are based around playlists, and the fact that the playlist in this one is actually a suicide note makes it all the more interesting.

FEBRUARY

Beastkeeper Cover

Release: February 3rd 2015

I love anything about Magic and Curses, plus how gorgeous is this cover!!! I’m really excited for this one!

Scripted Cover

Release: February 5th 2015

This one feels slightly Hunger Games-y with the whole TV show thing, but it’s totally different at the same time which makes me really intrigued to see how the story goes with this one.

Red Queen Cover

Release: February 10th 2015

When a description starts “for fans of Divergent and the Hunger Games” I know I’ve found a winner. This story sounds amazing, and even more exciting, it’s going to be a trilogy. HELLS YES! Very excited for this one.

Dove Arising Cover

Release: February 24th 2015

A YA book about a girl who lives in a colony on the moon? YES PLEASE! And on Goodreads it’s listed as book 1, and you know what that means, A NEW SERIES!

…..

Are you wanting any of these too?

What other releases are you most excited for in the New Year?

Any recommendations?

Most Wanted2

It has been a while since I did a Most Wanted post, but there are some amazing books being released this summer that I am VERY excited for so just had to share them with you!

JULY

18298225

Release: July 1st 2014

I love a good little YA contemporary romance. This one looks great, very much the girl/guy next door kind of story. This will be great to read whilst out in the sunshine.

18717651

Release: July 29th 2014

I’ve not got any exciting travel plans this year so instead I’m living my travels through other people and through books! Plus I really love the cover to this one, and that there are no places names on the map, but rather ‘loss’, ‘hope’ and ‘love’. Very excited to read this one.

AUGUST

20801166

Release: August 26th 2014

I REALL REALLY love the look of this one. It’s a love story, no doubt, but the way the description is written is really unique and makes it seem like so much more then just another love story. Plus the cover is gorgeous, I would love to get this printed and framed!

20578970

Release: August 26th 2014

I really like the idea behind this one. We see celebrities getting slammed in the press and online when something in their life goes wrong, but was unique about this book is that the main girl isn’t a celebrity, not in the A-list kind of way. This looks like the kind of book is is full of heartbreak and healing but with its own unique angle. Really excited for this one 🙂

Nil CoverReleased 4th March 2014
I feel like I have been waiting for this one for AGES. Looks like fun, maybe a bit like The 100 mixed with The Hunger Games. Excited to see what this one is all about.
.
Panic_HC_JKT_des4.inddReleased 4th March 2014
This one just looks awesome! I’m really intrigued to know what the Panic games actually entail. Feels a bit like Hunger Games, but modern day and without the whole death thing. So not really anything like the Hunger Games haha.
.
Side Effects May Vary CoverReleased 18th March 2014
It’s quite nice to find a book about a teenage cancer sufferer who actually beats cancer. This book looks really fun though, as the main character has to deal with the consequences of her crazy bucket list.
.
The Edge of Falling CoverReleased 18th March 2014
This book feels like it’s going to be quite deep and full of emotion, perfect! I do love a book that makes me feel something big.

So, that’s what I’m looking forward to this month, how about you?

Most Wanted: List for Santa

November 22, 2013 Most Wanted 0

So, it’s getting close to Christmas and Santa aka my Mum & Dad have started asking me what I would like. I feel like I only had my birthday 2 weeks ago, and I struggled with making a list for that! So don’t think this one is going to be much easier.
.
One thing I know is that I want some proper physical books. I really do love the Kindle app on my iPad, it makes reading so much more convenient (I even read on my phone whilst walking the dog!) but I do sometimes miss a proper book with proper paper pages and that book smell. I swear, I still remember exactly how my Harry Potter books smell, and every time I smell that smell it’s what I imagine Hogwarts to smell like!
.
Anyway, I have been looking at books, Digital & Physical, Old and New, trying to get together a list for Santa. Here’s what I’ve got so far …
(click on the covers for GR’s link)
.
these broken starsHave been seeing this one around for a while, really excited to finally get the chance to read it!
.
game of thrones seriesI have been watching the TV series and have LOVED it and keep saying I’m going to read these but never get round to it. I really want to get the physical box set so I can just spend the entire Christmas holiday reading!
.
pawnI’ve just finished two dystopian series and so I’m looking for a new one to read. I found this one on Goodreads recently and it’s definitely going on my Christmas list!
.
beautiful creaturesI never got the chance to read these before watching the film, but now I really wish I had. Another book series I’m hoping to immerse myself in over the Christmas holiday!
.
Anyone got any more good books that I should check out for my Christmas list?
.
Leave a comment and let me know!

.
14290364Released 5th November (TOMORROW!!!)
Book 3 in the Legend Series. Since the slightly cliff-hangery ending of book 2 I have been dying to get my hands on this book! So excited to see how its ends, although a little bit sad that it’s going to be over!
.

16039122Released 5th November (Tomorrow!)
Book 4 in the series, if you like fairytale retellings then these books are for you! You can read them as a series or as 4 stand alone books. So good!
.

17233800Book 3 in the ‘Pushing the Limits’ series. I LOVED the first two books (reviews coming this week) and I have been looking forward to this one for what feels like AGES!
.
Although it’s not a book, it is book related.
I am a MASSIVE fan of books being turned into films (when done properly!) and this month I am really looking forward to The Book Thief (8th November) and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (22nd November) being released at the cinema!

.
So, that’s what I’m looking forward to this month, how about you?

Most Wanted: September 2013

Most Wanted

There are some amazing books being released this month. This is my list of what I am most looking forward to…

All Our Yesterdays

September 3rd (TODAY!)

“You have to kill him.” Imprisoned in the heart of a secret military base, Em has nothing except the voice of the boy in the cell next door and the list of instructions she finds taped inside the drain.
Only Em can complete the final instruction. She’s tried everything to prevent the creation of a time machine that will tear the world apart. She holds the proof: a list she has never seen before, written in her own hand. Each failed attempt in the past has led her to the same terrible present—imprisoned and tortured by a sadistic man called the doctor while war rages outside.
Marina has loved her best friend James since the day he moved next door when they were children. A gorgeous, introverted science prodigy from one of America’s most famous families, James finally seems to be seeing Marina in a new way, too. But on one disastrous night, James’s life crumbles apart, and with it, Marina’s hopes for their future. Now someone is trying to kill him. Marina will protect James, no matter what. Even if it means opening her eyes to a truth so terrible that she may not survive it. At least not as the girl she once was.
All Our Yesterdays is a wrenching, brilliantly plotted story of fierce love, unthinkable sacrifice, and the infinite implications of our every choice.
.
I have been excited for this one for AGES! Time machines, a rebellion, romance. Everything you need for a good book, and it’s released today!

Fan Girl

September 10th
.
Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan . . .
But for Cath, being a fan is her life — and she’s really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow series when they were just kids; it’s what got them through their mother leaving.
Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere.
Cath’s sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can’t let go. She doesn’t want to.
Now that they’re going to college, Wren has told Cath she doesn’t want to be roommates. Cath is on her own, completely outside of her comfort zone. She’s got a surly roommate with a charming, always-around boyfriend, a fiction-writing professor who thinks fan fiction is the end of the civilized world, a handsome classmate who only wants to talk about words . . . And she can’t stop worrying about her dad, who’s loving and fragile and has never really been alone.
For Cath, the question is: Can she do this?
Can she make it without Wren holding her hand? Is she ready to start living her own life? Writing her own stories?
And does she even want to move on if it means leaving Simon Snow behind?
.
This is not my normal type of book, but the reviews for it have been really really good, and it seams like a nice coming-of-age type story, so I thought I would give it a chance.
.

The Chaos of Stars

September 10th
.
Isadora’s family is seriously screwed up.
Of course, as the human daughter of Egyptian gods, that pretty much comes with the territory. She’s also stuck with parents who barely notice her, and a house full of relatives who can’t be bothered to remember her name. After all, they are going to be around forever—and she’s a mere mortal.
Isadora’s sick of living a life where she’s only worthy of a passing glance, and when she has the chance to move to San Diego with her brother, she jumps on it. But Isadora’s quickly finding that a “normal” life comes with plenty of its own epic complications—and that there’s no such thing as a clean break when it comes to family. Much as she wants to leave her past behind, she can’t shake the ominous dreams that foretell destruction for her entire family. When it turns out there may be truth in her nightmares, Isadora has to decide whether she can abandon her divine heritage after all.
.
I have read a lot of books about Greek Gods and absolutely loved them, so when I saw this one I was really excited about it. Plus the cover looks so good. I think I would have wanted this one even before I had read the description!

This Song Will Save Your Life

September 17th
.
Making friends has never been Elise Dembowski’s strong suit. All throughout her life, she’s been the butt of every joke and the outsider in every conversation. When a final attempt at popularity fails, Elise nearly gives up. Then she stumbles upon a warehouse party where she meets Vicky, a girl in a band who accepts her; Char, a cute, yet mysterious disc jockey; Pippa, a carefree spirit from England; and most importantly, a love for DJing.
Told in a refreshingly genuine and laugh-out-loud funny voice, THIS SONG WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE is an exuberant novel about identity, friendship, and the power of music to bring people together.
.
I feel like I have been reading reviews for this book for the past year, and I am really excited that it is FINALLY being released. I’ve never read a book about DJ’ing and I am quite intrigued to see how it turns out.
.

Vicious

September 24th
.
A masterful, twisted tale of ambition, jealousy, betrayal, and
superpowers, set in a near-future world.
Victor and Eli started out as college roommates—brilliant, arrogant, lonely boys who recognized the same sharpness and ambition in each other. In their senior year, a shared research interest in adrenaline, near-death experiences, and seemingly supernatural events reveals an intriguing possibility: that under the right conditions, someone could develop extraordinary abilities. But when their thesis moves from the academic to the experimental, things go horribly wrong.
Ten years later, Victor breaks out of prison, determined to catch up to his old friend (now foe), aided by a young girl whose reserved nature obscures a stunning ability. Meanwhile, Eli is on a mission to eradicate every other super-powered person that he can find—aside from his sidekick, an enigmatic woman with an unbreakable will.
Armed with terrible power on both sides, driven by the memory of betrayal and loss, the archnemeses have set a course for revenge—but who will be left alive at the end?
.
Superpowers and Old friends who are now kind of enemies. Feels very x-men-ish. And I loved X-Men. This one went right to the top of my list when I found it!
.
So, that’s what I’m looking forward to this month, how about you?
