Books I Will Be Wishing I Could Read on a Beach (Whilst Actually in the Freezing Cold UK!)

May 31, 2016 Top Ten Tuesday 11

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke & The Bookish.
Each week they release a Top Ten Theme and invite everyone to join in and make their own Top Ten List.

I have had the most amazing Bank Holiday weekend with my family and sadly I’m back in work today surrounded by paperwork and other boring things! But I get to do it all again with my boyfriend in 2 weeks when we go to the Lake Distrcit for a long weekend, so at the moment that is getting me through!

This weeks TTT is all about books that I want in my beach bag this summer. Well sadly I will not be on any beaches this summer, and also as I am in the UK there probably isn’t going to be much sun! But there are still a TON of books I want to read this summer, so lets just pretend that I will be reading them on a beach!

TTT Beach Reads

Deep Redemption (Tillie Cole) – No description for this one yet, but it’s Tillie Cole so in no way do I need a description to get me to read it! Book number 4 in the Hades Hangmen series, I am so excited to get this book! (Release Date: July 12th 2016)

Revenge (Tillie Cole) – Another Tillie Cole book I can’t wait to get my hands on! The 3rd in her Scarred Souls series, all these books have brokenΒ my heart, but in the best way possible. I’m hoping this one does the same! (Release Date: August 8th 2016)

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (J.K.Rowling) – I am so lucky to be able to say that I have tickets to see both parts of the HP play in January, but no way can I wait until then so I need this book ASAP! (Release Date: July 31st 2016)

It Wasn’t Always Like This (Joy Preble) – I can’t believe I haven’t read this one yet because it is EXACTLY my type of book! If I was going to a beach this would be the first thing in my bag. But I’m not, so I’m going to have to read it surrounded by rain!

Summer Shadows (Joss Stirling) – There is still no description for this one, but I have LOVED every single one of Stirling’s books in the Benedicts series and can’t wait to get my hands on this one too! (Release Date: July 2016)

The Glittering Court (Richelle Mead) – I’ve had this one on my TBR for a little while but I really am planning on getting round to reading it this summer. The story just looks fascinating!

It Ends With Us (Colleen Hoover) – I love a good Colleen Hoover romance and I feel like I have been waiting forever for this one. She write perfect swoony scenes and totally sexy men and the most EPIC of romances. (Release Date: August 2nd 2016)

United As One (Pittiaus Lore) – I can’t believe this series is at its end but I am so excited to see how it ends. I’ve been reading this series since I was 18, and it just proves that these books are not just for kids! (Release Date: June 28th 2016)

Outrun the Moon (Stacey Lee) – This book looks like an amazing and inspirational story, and even better it’s based on an actual event in history. I really want to read this one asap!

A Torch Against the Night (Sabaa Tahir) – I have NEEDED this book for so long, ever since I read An Ember in the Ashes and fell in love with everything about it. I cannot wait to get my hands on this and DEVOUR it! (Release Date: August 30th 2016)

Are you going to be on a beach this summer? What do you think of my choices? Do you want to read these too?

What’s on your list this week?

You are so lucky that you scored tickets to see The Cursed Child!!!! I am hoping one day I can see it live too but I will settle for the script book for now.

Outrun the Moon is a good book. I recently finished reading it this month and enjoyed it a lot.

I know! My boyfriend suprised me for Christmas. I was so mad at him for breaking our rule about how much we were spending on each other, but then at the same time I really wanted the tickets so wasn’t mad at him for long! Haha πŸ™‚
Good to hear, I can’t wait to start reading it! Thanks for stopping by! πŸ™‚

  2. Chrissi Reads

I do love Colleen Hoover. I really need to read November 9 so I’m all caught up. She is a fantastic writer. Happy Summer Reading (even if it’s miserable in the UK!)

  3. Lindsey @ Lindsey Reads

    Great list!
Of course Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a must! I can completely understand that you can’t wait until the play to read it πŸ™‚
And I’m also super excited about A Torch Against The Night! I LOVED An Ember In The Ashes so much and I’m so happy it got a sequel (no way that would have been a standalone!)

I know right! My boyfriend (who bought me the tickets and is coming with me to see it) doesn;t understand the need the read the book first and has said I’m going to ruin it for myself) but then could the same not be said for reading a book before seeing a film? I’ve never though that I’ve spoiled the film if I’ve read the bok first, in fact I prefer it that way and will sometimes hold of on watching the film because I haven’t read the book. (Still haven’t read or watched The Book Theif although they are both sat on my shelf!)
I know, it HAD to be more than just 1 book, I don;t think I could have coped with only one book in Tahir’s amazing world!

  4. Tracy @ Cornerfolds

YES to The Cursed Child!! I can’t wait to finally get my hands on it. I’m also super excited about A Torch Against the Night! That’s easily one of my most anticipated books of the year. I hope you get to read all of these! πŸ˜€

    Here are my Top Ten!

Me toooooo! So excited but still over a month to wait for it! πŸ™
I know, I am so so so eager to get my hands on ATATN! Need more of Tahir’s fantastic world.
Thanks for checking out my list! πŸ™‚

  5. Rissi

Yay for ‘The Glittering Court.’ I have that on eon my (someday) TBR also. This year, I actually read my first novel by Richelle, ‘Soundless’ and did enjoy it, so I’m curious to read this one. The cover is gorgeous! Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland, Hannah. πŸ™‚

    • Brocs Bookcase

I’ve been meaning to read it since it’s release but still haven’t gotten round to it, so this summer it’s a must! I’ve never read anything by her before but just checked out Soundless on goodreads and love the look of it. An entire village who cannot hear? Sounds interesting πŸ™‚ Thanks for checking out my list!

  6. Lenore

Can you believe I’m one of the few minority that doesn’t enjoy Tillie Cole? It makes me sad…

You have some great sounding books on your list, I hope you enjoy them even without the beach!!

    • Brocs Bookcase

      :O We can’t be friends

only kidding. But it makes me sad too. Which of her books did you try?
Haha thanks, I might get a picture of a beach and put it next to my chair for whilst I’m reading. Can imagine I’m there! πŸ™‚
