Ten Books I Really Hope to Read this Spring

March 15, 2016 Top Ten Tuesday 14

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature hosted by The Broke & The Bookish.
Each week they release a Top Ten Theme and invite everyone to join in and make their own Top Ten List.

I had a bit of a book slump last month. The same thing happened to me around the same time last year, and it totally knocked me off course with my reading for the rest of the year. This year I decided to try something different and as soon as I went into book slump mode I switch my reading to non-fiction.

I think reading something that wasn’t so heavy was the best thing for me to be reading whilst feeling slumpy, and I managed to get through with my reading unscathed! So, to cut a long story short…I am on a massive reading high right now and cannot wait to read the following books…

Lady Midnight
So I’m actually reading this one at the moment, but had to mention it because it was one of my most anticipated reads of this year, let alone for Spring this year.

Walk the Edge (Release 29th March)
The second book in Katie McGarry’s Thunder Road series I have been so excited for this book! I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book and have big plans to sit and do nothing for the rest of the week so I can read it non stop!

The Winners Kiss (Release 29th March)
Ok, so my absolute most anticipated read of this year! I am SO EXCITED for this book and I feel like I have been waiting FOREVER for it to be released. I adored the first two books in this fantastic trilogy and I can’t wait to see how the trilogy ends.

The Glittering Court (Released 5th April)
I have read some really great reviews for this book and it sounds like the start of an amazing series. I love the storyline and the world-building sounds like it will be incredible. I cannot wait to get my hands on this one.

Flawed (Released 5th April)
I’ve absolutely loved the previous Cecelia Ahern books I’ve read, so when I heard she was doing her first ever YA book I knew I needed to read it. Super excited for the release of this one!

Wild Swans (Released 3rd May)
I was sent an ARC of this one and just couldn’t resist it once I read the description. Plus, the cover is so pretty

Night Speed (Released 3rd May)
I really like the sound of this one, it reminds me of the film Limitless a little bit, but more fast paced and with super-powered teens. I want this book now.

The Last Time We Were Us (Released 10th May)
I really really like the sound of this one. It sounds like a cross between a second chance romance/friendship and a healing romance, both of which are my favourite types of romances!

It Wasn’t Always Like This (Released 17th May)
OMG I LOVE THIS STORY! I haven’t even read it yet, but boy do I want it baaaaaaaaad! The whole ‘live forever but forced apart’ storyline just kills me every time I see/read it (does anyone else remember the film Hancock? I don’t think I was meant to cry in that film, but wow was it heartbreaking!)

The Sin Eaters Daughter & The Sleeping Prince

So The Sin Easters Daughter one has been out of a while now, but since the second book (The Sleeping Prince) is being released on May 31st I really want to read the first one so I’m ready for it. I have heard such amazing things about it, I’m excited to fangirl with the rest of you guys!

I’m so excited for Spring reading! Are you planning on reading any of these books too?

Which books are on your list this week?

OMG what a great selection. I’m excited for you! I’ve just finished Walk the Edge and really loved it so I hope you do too and I’m hoping to read Flawed and Wild Swan soon. I like the covers for The last time we were us, and It wasn’t always like this. I may have to go and look them up! But my favourite on your list has to be The Sin Eaters Daughter and The Sleeping Prince! I loved book one and hope to read book two soon.

    Fantastic choices this week Hannah!
    Happy Reading

I loved Walk the Edge! Was a bit disappointed in Wild Swan though, what did you think?
I’m still hoping to read The Sin Eaters Daughter very soon!

    • Brocs Bookcase

Thanks, and it was AMAZING! If you haven’t already then you MUST read the trilogy!

I can’t recommend The Winner’s Trilogy enough, so darn good. I still haven’t read The Glittering Court but still really really want to! 🙂

  3. Tracy @ Cornerfolds

The Winner’s Kiss is going to be AMAZING!! At least, that’s what I’m hoping. Because I’d be devastated otherwise. I hope you get to read all these!

    Here are my Top Ten!

Did you think it was amazing? Because I did! Such an incredible ending to the trilogy! 🙂

  4. Becky @ A Fool's Ingenuity

The Winner’s Kiss and Walk The Edge are both amazing. I hope you get to read them soon because I really enjoyed them. As for the rest of the books, why would you add so many books to my TBR list? Wild Swans and The Last Time We Were Us sound fantastic. I can’t believe I hadn’t stumbled across them before. As for It Wasn’t Always Like This, I cannot wait to read it. I added it my TBR list a little while ago and couldn’t believe I would have to wait for it to be published!

    • Brocs Bookcase

Hahaha, I know your troubles! It happens to me every Tuesday too! My TBR is ridiculously long!
I LOVED The Winner’s Kiss. What did you think of Wild Swans, I have to admit I was a little disappointed.
I’ve just bought The Last Time We Were Us and It Wasn’t Always Like This so very excited to get into them 🙂

The Winner’s Curse made my top ten as well for this spring. I hope we both love the ending. The Glittering Court almost made mine but not quite. The Sin Eater’s Daughter is on my general TBR list. Have a great spring, filled with wonderful books!

    • Brocs Bookcase

I don’t know about you but I LOVED the ending to The Winner’s trilogy. I hope your summer is also filled with wonderful books! 🙂
